Miss Kitty's Vodou

Voodoo is a religion. This religion sprung from an era in man's history where men held other men in slavery. The people that were forced from the homes in Africa struggled to maintain and preserve their faith in the gods of their ancestors. From this struggle Voodoo emerged in Haiti and migrated to the swamps and bayous of Louisiana.

Miss Kitty

The dolls, serpent figures, necklaces and other Vodou Art created by Miss Kitty are authentic expressions of a religious spirit, dating back 6000 years to Western Africa. Inspired by the New Orleans traditions of Vodou Orders, the materials and symbolism in Miss Kitty's Art are consistent with Vodou practices and icons. It is Miss Kitty's intent to raise the representation of Vodou to fine art.
